The Food & Research Action Center
The Food & Research Action Center (FRAC) is the leading national nonprofit organization working to eradicate poverty-related hunger and under-nutrition in the United States. Previously, their logo had looked dated, and there were inconsistent variations of the old logo throughout their materials. The layouts of their printed and PDF online materials lacked uniformity. Dovetail was brought in to design the logo as an acronym with no imagery, and through its simplicity, the logotype conveys strength and professionalism, and suggests the range of topics that FRAC addresses. A palette was developed, and each letter of the acronym assigned a different color, representing diverse areas of expertise. Their many publications now look branded, purposeful and coordinated. Templates were provided to FRAC employees so the organization can now produce their reports, newsletters, and fact sheets in-house.
